As a born and raised Jamaican and traveller of Caribbean islands fortunately I reject individualism to the core and the likeness that capitalism encourages as it is contrary to my roots though I can appreciate the past infrastructure I guess business model from past academia but thankful we're in 2023 and we're not using Christianity to push White Supremacy (HOPEFULLY). This is trauma and academia will be doing us an injustice to not put this in the forefront of the Mental Health Crisis as immigrants are being dismantled by the foundations of capitalism!
However, in my efforts during the life I hope to garner unity per Kwanzaa traditions and also respect those of other cultures among the wider multicultural diaspora. The business of love should be the forefront though (in my opinion): making sure everyone is okay and no one is left behind. Nor do they have to bear any burden alone. Self-sufficiency is great of-course, but with the developments of society socio-technological impacts of society - we should be able to lessen the load of every human being.
