“Today, too many Torontonians are facing an impossible choice,” says How-Sen Chong, Climate Campaigner at Toronto Environmental Alliance. “Opening a window to cool your home but let in dangerous wildfire smoke; or closing that window to keep smoke out but lock in the heat.”
“This is not a political opinion: The increasing number and intensity of heatwaves and wildfires is not a natural phenomenon,” says Chong. “And these events will not dissipate until we stop lighting things on fire to produce energy.”

Today TEA released a media statement highlighting the fact that the wildfire smoke that has engulfed Toronto is as a result of climate change, and what we can do to combat the climate crisis.
