Hi there, this is Shingo from Sakura Handyman Service.

The owner decided not to use the dishwasher. I’m going to remove it, but we don’t want it to be a part of landfill. It’s still working well. It’s free. Please let me know if you are interested in it.

Thank you!

Stair Transformation — Red Oak Treads & Risers

Hi everyone! Shingo here from Sakura Handyman Service.

I finished a stair refurbishment in a residential home - I pulled out the old carpet and replaced it with beautiful red oak treads and risers, custom stained and finished with a clear floor coat. Such a rewarding project to work on!

If you've been thinking about upgrading your stairs, I'd love to help. Feel free to reach out for a free consultation and quote!

Hello! This is Shingo from Sakura Handyman Service.

I recently got a call from one of the units here at Heintzman Place. There was a water leak from the dishwasher. As many of you may know, water leaks can cause serious damage, especially in condos. Thankfully, this unit was on the main floor, so there were no neighbours below to worry about.

As it turns out, the leak did a number on the cabinets and drywall behind them, so everything needed to be replaced. Normally, when kitchen cabinet replacement is necessary, the countertops need to come out too. But this kitchen's layout had the countertops fitted snugly between the walls - so I left the countertops in place with temporary supports, leaving the sink and drain pipe intact. This meant there was no need to bring in a plumber - saving extra cost in the process.
It was definitely a fun and challenging puzzle to work around the hanging countertops, but I made it happen!

If you're dealing with something similar, or just want to chat through your options, I would love to help. Don't hesitate to reach out!

Hello! This is Shingo from Sakura Handyman Service.

I wanted to share one of my latest projects here at Heintzman Place with you. An owner-resident family is expecting a baby. To welcome the new addition to their family, I helped them re-purpose and refresh their solarium into a proper bedroom. We made it happen by doing three things:

First, we removed the popcorn ceiling and replaced it with a smooth, bright one that changes how the light falls into the space.
Second, we replaced the builder’s light fixture with a sleek and modern one that is better suited for the room.
And finally, we replaced the French door with a solid one.

Removing the popcorn ceiling was not an easy task, especially for my neck..BUT, it was really worth the effort seeing the results afterwards! The smooth finish of the ceiling really transformed the room.

The room is now a proper bedroom, refreshed and ready to welcome the family’s new baby!

If you’re thinking about a small renovation project such as this, please let me know. I’m happy to discuss any refresh project or any other ideas with you.

Recently, a client approached us about cracked tiles and missing grout in their bathroom floor. The plan was to simply replace the damaged tiles and completely re-grout the areas affected. Upon removing the tiles, we found that most of them were not attached properly, and could come off easily. To prevent future mishaps, and ensure future durability, we opted for a complete reinstallation of the floor tiles and grout, ensuring peace of mind for many years to come.

If you have concerns or issues with your tiles and/or grout, and would like to have them evaluated and repaired, please contact us for a free estimate!
