I have empathy for guys at the straight parade, from what I can see mostly white men. I can understand how equality to them might feel like oppression. however coming from someone who is both black and gay, I don't think those folks truly understand what it means to be oppressed.

That said, their pain is real, even if it is largely a result of their life decisions. If we can't empathize with our fellow citizens, it will be extremely difficult for everyone to heal and move forward.
