Not just new homes.

If your project qualifies as a âsubstantial renovationâ (about 90% rebuilt â CRA typically uses drywall replacement as the test), you may be eligible for the new HST rebate.
Example:$1M renovation â $113K rebate
This changes the strategy for a lot of homeowners:

The window opens April 1, 2026 but closes March 31, 2027 (have till 2028-2031 to complete construction depending on housing type)
