Saddened to hear about the effects on our pets of these poisonous chemicals being sprayed on big box retailer Christmas trees. One of the many issues with bringing trees in from the United States. Most of these trees are being cut down in late September/early October. Its just not right to call a tree "fresh" cut when it is only staying fresh because of chemical preservatives and pesticides being sprayed on the trees. Ontario grown trees do grow much slower, which means they grow fuller, and stay fresh longer as they don't have as long or far to travel. But since they grow slower, they cost more, and big box retailers margins come first. I thought getting a natural christmas tree would always mean real tree as opposed to an artificial one. Not in a million years would I think that means Christmas trees not sprayed in chemicals, versus dried out old Christmas trees sprayed in chemicals to save a few bucks. Whether you order from us, cut down your own tree, or pick one out at a local lot, make sure you support local Ontario farmers and get a tree that is safe for your pets.
