From one "borrowed" shelf to 10 years of growth. 🌱
If you saw me in the summer of 2016, you saw a 23 year old young woman obsessed with collecting succulents. What I didn’t have? A plan for a Canadian winter, or any idea how to run a business.
I remember knocking on Jeff & Marjorie Mason’s heated greenhouse door the fall of 2016 begging for one tiny shelf to keep my 100+ succulent species collection from freezing. That one shelf turned into two, then five, then a rent check. Before I knew it, my "hobby" had 20,000 followers and a business license.
I spent the next 5 years balancing this with my teaching career until I finally took the leap 5 years ago to go full-time. It’s been the hardest, most rewarding decade of my life.
This September marks 10 YEARS of Canadian Succulents. I wouldn't trade the "hard days" for anything, and I am so grateful for the year 2016 ❤️
