The finished hand-lettered posters from GCM 806: Advanced Typography are now on display at the !
Created by students and led by Lecturer Diana Varma, the posters are part of the Type Takeover project that brought a live typography experience to the SLC on March 19.

third-year student Sheilae Siagian is helping youth explore print careers through Sheilae the Print Nerd, a short-form video series created with Canadian Print Scholarships!
The series introduces Grade 10 students to career opportunities in Canada’s printing and imaging industry by connecting everyday printed products to the people, skills, and technologies behind them.
As she prepares to enter her third year, Sheilae encourages incoming GCM students to take advantage of new opportunities, step outside their comfort zones, and get involved both in and beyond the classroom.

Fourth-year student Mariah Williams wrapped up her eight-month internship as a Graphic Design & Community Management Intern at in April 2026!
Throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, Mariah worked with clients and creative teams while strengthening her creative and professional communication skills.
Her advice to incoming GCM students? “When applying for internships, take a chance on every opportunity that interests you because you never know what experience, skills, or passion you might discover along the way!”

awarded for excellence in research at the Phoenix Challenge College Competition (PCC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!
Hosted at the annual FTA Forum, the Phoenix Challenge brings together universities and colleges from across North America to tackle industry-focused flexographic printing and packaging challenges through research, design, and print production.
students received recognition for ReplyCafe, a flexographic branding and packaging project developed for an independent cafe in downtown Toronto.
Their advice to incoming GCM students? “Get involved early and explore different GCM clubs and opportunities. Trying new things will help you discover your interests and shape your path in the industry.”
