"love – a black woman’s definition
Is an ongoing photo series that documents how black women define love for themselves. Each of the women chose a particular word that captures how they want to be loved, and why. The photos capture them embodying that word and everything that is represented. This project began at the end of 2016 in Nairobi Kenya and since then has included women in Toronto and Los Angeles. In each city four women were shot for the project. By choosing their word these women are reclaiming what love is to them."
