We’ve spent thousands of hours working on bringing the Words Matter Campaign across the province. We’ve met with students, educators and admin from multiple boards, and they’re all saying the same thing: this work is important, and needs to be shared.

And you helped us do that. To every classroom, school gym, conference hall and community building that hosted Words Matter programming: thank you 🙏

After some rest, our team will be busy in the lab, preparing to take the Words Matter campaign Canada-wide.

Schools across Canada are facing increasing concerns around violence, discipline, and safety.

Educators are being asked difficult questions every day:

How do we respond to harm in ways that protect safety, while also building accountability, trust, and belonging?

Restorative justice is often presented as an alternative to punitive discipline. But in practice, many educators and families are still asking:

What does restorative justice actually look like in schools?

When does it work — and when does it fall short?

Who is being included in these processes… and who is not?

This 90-minute virtual roundtable brings together educators, students, caregivers, and community partners to have an honest, grounded conversation about what’s happening in schools right now — and where we go from here.
