Magic Purple Stone

It’s been a while since we played with watercolors last time. So I decided to have kids paint with it today and try a new technique I found online, that is to sprinkle some salt on freshly painted watery area and it makes really cool effect and texture.
First, we drew some sea creatures with a white oil pastel on a piece of watercolor paper.
Second we painted the creatures with warm color, then background ocean with cool color. Before the paint dried, sprinkled some salt.
That’s it! Very easy, my 4 year old was enjoying it as much as the older one. Only downside was that it made us miss the aquarium! We love watching fun and mysterious sea creatures at the aquarium, hopefully we can visit there again soon.

久しぶりに水彩絵の具で遊びました。インターネットで塩を使ったプロジェクトの紹介を見て、早速チャレンジ。
まずは水彩画用紙に、クレパス（パステル）で魚やクラゲなど海の生き物の絵を描きます。
次に水彩絵の具で暖色（オレンジや赤）を使って生き物を塗ります。太めの筆に水を多めに含ませて、2、3色に分けて塗ると、境界が混ざり合って水彩のいい雰囲気が出ますよ。
同じように、今度はバックグラウンドの海を寒色（青や緑、紫）で塗ります。
そして、水が乾かないうちに、塩をパラパラと振りかけます。
あとは乾かすだけ、見た目も涼しい深海アートのできあがり。早く水族館へ行けるようになって、可愛いくて不思議な海の生き物たちを、また間近で見れるようになってほしいなあ。。。🐟✨
