Silence or absence of communication is communication.
I’m big on encouraging open dialogue, asking questions, looking for clarity, and not making assumptions.
AND if in our attempts to do so what we receive is silence, well, that also speaks volumes.
Even as our brains look to create a story (often a false one of how we’re not enough) may we focus on the facts and ask: “This is what your silence is communicating to me-am I off?”
P.s. Let’s also make note of how difficult it is to have hard conversations and say hard things. Sometimes, the words are just at the tip of our tongue and we can’t fully release them. It doesn’t make us “bad” people and there is also something to be said about the kindness of truth. Because…
