Overwatering isn’t about giving your plant too much water at once. It’s about watering too often. 💧
Here’s the difference:
❌ Watering every day while the soil is still wet = overwatering. Roots can’t breathe, they rot 💀
✅ Waiting until the soil is partially dry (how dry? depends on what plant you have), then giving a deep thorough soak until water drains out the bottom = correct. That’s actually how most indoor plants want to be watered.
Let the soil dry out between waterings, and when you do water — go all in! Your plant will thank you. 🌿
A plant can’t grow where it’s constantly fighting to survive.
Wrong light. Wrong soil. No room for the roots. In those conditions, a plant doesn’t flourish — it just holds on. Spending every bit of energy trying to stay alive and stay green, with nothing left over for new growth.
But move it somewhere better? Give it the right light, more space, conditions that actually support it, and it becomes something different. Something you didn’t know it was capable of being.
The plant didn’t change. The environment did. 🌱
Put the spray bottle down 💧🌿
When AC season hits, the air gets dry — and plants feel it with crispy, dry leaf edges. The natural instinct is to mist them. But here’s the thing: misting doesn’t actually increase humidity like you might think.
Humidity is water vapour in the air, not droplets on a leaf that evaporate in seconds. And for some plants, constantly wet foliage can actually cause fungal problems, bacterial spotting, and crown rot.
What actually works:
💨 A humidifier near your plants — actually raises moisture in the air
🪴 Grouping plants together — they transpire and create humidity for each other
Save the spray bottle for cleaning leaves. Get a humidifier for the rest🌱
