Food Safety: Temporary import restriction imposed on pistachios from Iran remains in effect due to Salmonella contamination - Canada.
According to Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), due to outbreaks of Salmonella infections with 200 cases that linked to various brands of pistachios and pistachio-containing products from Iran, CFIA's Temporary Import Restriction imposed Dec. 2, 2025 on Iranian pistachios and pistachio products remains in effect. People are advised to avoid pistachios from Iran and products made with from , due to possible contamination.
