Three AMPD community members have been appointed to the Order of Canada, one of the country’s highest civilian honours.
Tim Whiten, artist and professor emeritus, and Nancy Nicol, documentary filmmaker, researcher, professor emerita and senior scholar, were appointed Members of the Order of Canada.
Niv Fichman (LLD Hons. ’98), Academy Award-winning producer, alumnus and honorary degree recipient, was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada.
They are among seven York University community members included in this year’s appointments. Congratulations!

AMPD Professor Magdalena Kazubowski-Houston's new book 'Randia’s Quiet Theatre: Performing Care and Activism with a Romani Elder' has received the Ann Saddlemyer Book Award from the Canadian Association for Theatre Research!
