Congratulations to MP Kody Blois and his dog Louis — the Global Cutest Pets Showdown Champion! 🐾🌍

On this International Day of Veterinary Medicine, we’re thrilled to celebrate the bond between people and their animals by announcing that Louis, representing Team Canada, has officially been crowned the first-ever Global Parliamentary Pet of the Year!

We celebrate today not only the joy pets bring to our lives but also the vital role that the animal health industry and veterinarians play in keeping them healthy around the world.

Louis' proud Dad, M.P Kody Blois shared this wonderful message:

“We are thrilled that our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog Louis has won Global Parliamentary Pet of the Year! What a great showcase of Parliamentarians' pets from Canada's and Europe's Parliament, and the US Capitol. Congratulations to all those who participated."

CAHI is proud to partner with Cleanfarms Inc. in the Unwanted / Old Equine & Livestock Medication Collection Program.

This important initiative helps farmers and horse owners safely dispose of expired or unused animal health products - keeping medications out of landfills and waterways. ♻️ 🌎

L'ICSA est fier de s'associer à Cleanfarms Inc. dans le cadre du programme de collecte des médicaments vétérinaires périmés ou inutilisés destinés aux chevaux et au bétail.

Cette importante initiative aide les agriculteurs et les propriétaires de chevaux à éliminer en toute sécurité les produits de santé animale périmés ou inutilisés, afin d'éviter que les médicaments ne se retrouvent dans les décharges et les cours d'eau. ♻️ 🌎

This week, CAHI hosted our 2nd annual Hill Day in Ottawa, bringing the voice of Canada’s animal health industry directly to Parliament Hill. 🍁

Our five dedicated teams held 18 meetings with key decision-makers, including representatives from Health Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, the Ministry of Industry, as well as Members of Parliament and Senators.

These conversations are vital to strengthen our agricultural sector, enhance food security, safeguard public health and help our pets live longer, healthier lives.

A huge thank you to our members and partners who joined us, and to all of the policymakers and parliamentarians who welcomed our perspectives.

Together, we’re championing healthier animals for a healthier Canada. 🍁

Cette semaine, l'ICSA a organisé sa deuxième journée annuelle sur la Colline à Ottawa, afin de faire entendre la voix de l'industrie canadienne de la santé animale directement au Parlement. 🍁

Nos cinq équipes dévouées ont tenu 18 réunions avec des décideurs clés, notamment des représentants de Santé Canada, d'Agriculture et Agroalimentaire Canada, du ministère de l'Industrie, ainsi que des députés et des sénateurs.

Ces conversations sont essentielles pour renforcer notre secteur agricole, améliorer la sécurité alimentaire, protéger la santé publique et aider nos animaux de compagnie à vivre plus longtemps et en meilleure santé.

Un grand merci à nos membres et partenaires qui se sont joints à nous, ainsi qu'à tous les décideurs politiques et parlementaires qui ont accueilli favorablement nos points de vue.

Ensemble, nous militons pour des animaux en meilleure santé afin d'assurer un Canada en meilleure santé. 🍁
