In 2005, the City of Toronto lived through the notorious “Summer of the Gun”. That year 52 people died as a result of gun violence.

Since 2021, Loyan Foundation has continued this journey with a deep commitment to supporting individuals living with albinism in Somalia. Despite limited resources and challenges, our mission has always remained clear — to stand with a community that deserves protection, inclusion, and equal opportunity.

People with albinism in Somalia face extraordinary difficulties, including extreme climate conditions, limited access to healthcare and sun protection, social stigma, and lack of community support. These realities are what continue to drive our advocacy and community efforts every day.

Through our Somali Albinism Advocacy program, we are committed to raising awareness, fighting stigma and discrimination, and promoting education, protection, inclusion, and empowerment. We believe every individual deserves to live with dignity, safety, respect, and hope.

By supporting access to healthcare, education, and community awareness, we aim to create a safer and more inclusive future for individuals affected by albinism and their families. Together, we can continue building communities rooted in compassion, understanding, and positive change.

Reach out to support our mission and help us make a lasting impact.
