Instagram is a rich goldmine for small businesses, and best of all, it’s free honey! This means that even small businesses can be up to par with their bigger, more influential counterparts on Instagram.

Brands are flocking to the platform for an opportunity for more visibility and tighter connections with their customers (and key demographics).

However, if you want to learn how to make money online through Instagram, you must be strategic with your marketing efforts.

Here are 10 Common mistakes I have seen small business owners make while trying to promote their business on instagram. Don't worry, I also provided you with solutions on how to improve your fix them.

Bonus: Here are two additional Mistakes and solutions.

NINE: Not Offering Value:
People aren’t going to gravitate toward your brand unless you give them a solid reason to. Every post you make needs to offer some kind of value, whether that’s practical or entertaining.

The Solution:
Offering value has multiple benefits; the more valuable the content you share, the more likely people are to share your content with their audience, save it as a resource and engage with you in the comments. All of this can help your content rank higher in search engines, and driving more traffic, users, and followers.

TEN: Posting at the Wrong Time

Being consistent on Instagram is one thing, but knowing when to post in order to receive the best engagement from your target market is another. When you post at the wrong times, your content is at risk for getting lost, and may not even be seen at all. No one wants to post to crickets! When you post at the wrong time, you’ll see a significant drop in engagement. Naturally, this can also result in a low conversion rate from your target customers.

The Solution:
Check in on your analytics often to see how your audience is responding to your content and when you are getting the most engagement, and use that to help you move forward.

All my Social Media Revamp clients receive my Best Times to Post Cheat Sheet this will take the guess work out of when to schedule your posts on Instagram saving you time and hassle.
