Just wanted to highlight a Multi-Unit we had the opportunity to install last week. We had a client call us, and after we took a water sample we found very high iron in their water, along with hardness and tannins. Kind of the trifecta of things a well can throw at you out here.

Now, a lot of folks figure iron and hardness are the same thing, but they're actually two different beasts. Hardness comes from calcium and magnesium, and over time it really takes a toll on the house. It's the chalky white buildup crusting up your faucets and shower heads, the scale that builds inside your boiler and hot water tank and makes them work harder, and that stubborn ring around the toilet bowl that just won't quit.

Iron is its own deal. It's usually what's behind those rusty orange stains in the sink and tub, the metallic taste, and the tan and orange staining that turns up on your laundry straight out of the wash.

Then you've got tannins, which come from organic matter in the ground like decaying leaves and vegetation. They can tint your water a yellowish, tea colour and even add a bit of a musty smell.
This Multi-Unit takes care of all three, so this client can get back to clear, clean and soft water straight from the tap. Easier on the fixtures and alot easier on the laundry.
