Check out this 3-part blog series with Imagine Canada, exploring pathways to financial resilience for non-profits. Each post provides new thinking about how organizations can approach funding, revenue, and capital in ways that build sustainability over time.

Over the last few months, we’ve been working with our friends at Imagine Canada on a three-part blog series that reflects the journey toward financial resilience for non-profits navigating today’s shifting economic and political landscape.

At Thriving Non-Profits, we offer journey of learning, support, and investment to help organizations move from funding dependence to financial resilience. This series brings that journey to life across three posts:

1️⃣ Part 1: Rethinking the Role of Grants - challenges us to rethink the role of traditional funding, like grants, not as the end goal, but as a starting point to build from.

2️⃣ Part 2: Earned Revenue – From Idea to Action - explores how to introduce, test, and implement earned revenue strategies in a practical way, unlocking the unrestricted revenue needed to stabilize and grow your programs, team, and impact.

3️⃣ Part 3: Investment Readiness and Access to Capital - looks at investment readiness and how organizations can access new forms of capital to bring impactful ideas to life and acquire long-term assets that strengthen financial stability while advancing your mission.

👉 If you’re ready to think differently about how your organization is funded and what’s possible, start with here with Part 1: Rethinking the Role of Grants: https://imaginecanada.ca/en/360/strengthening-your-nonprofits-financial-foundation-3-part-series

We’re pleased to share the Thrive Impact Fund 2025 Impact Report. 🙌 Thrive continues to mobilize our resources into good projects and support entrepreneurs stepping up to help solve some of the big challenges.
This year, Thrive:

✅ Deployed $3.13M into impact organizations across British Columbia
✅ Reached $5.3M total deployed capital since inception
✅ Grew to 23 portfolio organizations, with 15 active investees

These investments are supporting work in climate resilience, food security, local media, clean technology, and social equity.

Across our portfolio, we continue to see that access to the right kind of capital matters. Many organizations still face barriers to financing, whether due to structure, timing, or lack of collateral. Thrive’s role is to provide flexible, patient capital that aligns with how these organizations actually operate and grow.

This report reflects that approach in action: deploying the right capital at the right time, and with the right support, to help the organizations and changemakers working hard to strengthen our communities.
