I saw a comment about this topic today, and did some quick checking myself as it felt way too familiar. What you see online is quickly becoming junk reposts and re-wording by bots or just plain lazy people. I block and cross off multiple post profiles per day due to this, and it doesn't get rid of it, it just lets the next one through. But fortunately I have a reasonable eye for what to watch out for, so I don't engage or react, or even click on a rubbish post.

It's up to all of us to be vigilant, because it'll get worse! And the really tragic thing is so many of the newer generations lack the skills to discriminate between real and fake because of a lack of years or experience. Gen X (I'm very typical X) have a pretty good filter for this sort of thing.

So pick your sources of truth carefully. Facebook "Pages" are usually more reliable than "Groups", because a Page is usually attributed to a business who cares about their audience. More often than not the posts are made by the business, not random people/bots that pass through. Groups on the other hand, are often a free-for all and that means there are more profiles, more posts and less administration/moderation to w**d out the junk. Many Groups are also after clicks to raise revenue and status, so even junk clicks are worth something.
