South Korea has unveiled an investment push that could top $1 trillion across chip manufacturing, AI data centres and robotics.

Samsung said it plans new semiconductor fabs and advanced memory facilities, while SK Group outlined long-term spending on chip production and AI data centres.

SK, GS and Naver also plan an initial 8.4 gigawatts of AI data-centre capacity, with construction targeted to start by early 2028.

The government aims to make South Korea one of the world’s top three AI robotics powers by 2030.
