Unspeakable Grief: for Q***r, Trans, Nonbinary and Two-Spirit support workers
Tuesday April 15 2025, 7 - 8:30 pm
At Cross & Crows Books, 2836 Commercial Drive, Vancouver
Registration required: genderoo.janeapp.com
As healthcare, frontline, or other support workers, it's not uncommon for us to experience the death of a client, colleague, or community member—but it can often feel like we have nowhere to turn. Our work environments aren’t typically built to support these types of losses. Client confidentiality carries beyond death, and workplace norms may make it hard to open up about our emotions. And we may be active in small communities, where our personal and professional lives overlap. But it’s important to allow ourselves space to grieve.
This free, in-person grief circle will be a facilitated space where you will be encouraged to acknowledge your feelings, and participate in a healing ritual together.
This group is being generously hosted by Cross and Crows books, a Vancouver based, q***r-owned small business. Please consider arriving early or staying late to shop here. You can also shop online anytime at www.crossandcrows.com.

Free Online Self Compassion Group for Q***r, Trans, Nonbinary and Two-Spirit People
BIPOC only group Wednesday May 1, @ 7 pm PT
Open group Wednesday May 8, @ 7 pm PT
Via Zoom
It’s a hard time to be a human in the world today. Climate disaster, the genocide in Gaza, escalating anti-trans hate, the poison drug supply crisis, and the list goes on. If you’re struggling right now, you’re not alone.
I’m Matsui, a QTBIPOC clinical counsellor, and I’d like to offer a gentle and trauma-informed circle where we can share space for healing. I will be facilitating some grounding somatic work to help you connect with the wisdom of your body, and find compassion in your heart. There will also be space to share and reflect.
The session will run for one hour. The first group is BIPOC only, while the second group is open to all q***r, trans, nonbinary and Two-Spirit community members.
This offering is free, with donations gratefully accepted.
Registration is required. Please email me at [email protected] if you would like to attend, with "RSVP BIPOC Self Compassion group” or “RSVP Open Self Compassion Group” in the title of your email.
