āLight up the patriarchyā and āSpring will eventually arriveā were two pieces I made for recent fundraiser extravaganza, Art Incognito. Was super fun to contribute to this show and wild night by opening my studio and chatting with lots of people who love and support the arts in Vancouver.
Both of these pieces sold, but working on some more florals in the same series, as well as some more snarky old men letting their freaks flyā¦. Dm me if you want to see the works in progress š

Iām really excited that I have two pieces in this show, with over fifty other artists, some of whom are friends and some of whom I am so inspired by (the overlap is %100 š).
Shannon, who runs This__ gallery, is both a very lovely human and a force in the arts in Vancouver. The show will serve as a fundraiser to ensure she can continue to keep her gallery doors open in a city that makes it pretty hard to be in the arts. Come and support and say hi! ā¤ļø

THIS Gallery is hosting a Spring Fundraiser with a special evening event Friday, May 15 at 6 pm. Weāve gathered some of the most unique, entertaining and sought after Canadian artists to create one-of-a-kind sculptural works. And weāve priced them all at just $200!
Installed in a continuous line on shallow white shelves, the exhibition is a celebration of detail, material, and imagination. At just $200 each, Minutiae also offers an accessible way to begin or expand a collection while directly supporting both artists* and the gallery.
As this is a ācash-and-carryā style event, youāll be able to take your new pieces home with you right away. If you buy online, you can pick them up at the gallery or we can have them shipped to you.
We hope youāll join us for this very special evening! If not, the entire collection will also be released online Friday, May 15 at 6 pm sharp.
And we have a winner!! ššš.
A notes: thereās a code somewhere in this reel for %20 off prints of āAt what point do I shatter?ā. Itās a thank you for all the kind words and interactions and shares- if you didnāt win the giveaway but love the print, hopefully that will dull the sting a bit and you can get one for yourself. It really does make me so happy to think of all my little art babies in your homes.
If you donāt have the patience to go code hunting, shoot me a message or drop something in the comments, happy to share! š (code valid until June 15th 2026).
Thank you thank you thank you! Iām still very new to this insta art thing, and it makes me nervous, but if this experience is anything to go by, thereās a whole lot of lovely and interesting and kind folks out there ā¤ļø
Contest extension! Draw will now be May 6th at Noon Vancouver time š
Up for grabs is a 16x20ā print of my piece āAt what point do I shatter??ā (2025, self portrait photo transfer, textile collage, hand stitching, acrylic, glass beads on raw canvas). Iāll hand embroidery it just for you.
To enter, like the pinned post and follow me. Extra entry for every share or comment on this post or the pinned post. Local pickup in Vancouver at my studio, winner pays the shipping if not š.
And if youāre the one who tagged the winner, Iāll make sure to send you a little something too ā¤ļø. Appreciate you all for sharing and helping me, a self identifying āartist who is terrible at talking about her artā, spreading the word and get my work out there. Love you, thank you!
xx t.
The best kind of days.
(Good crying.)
A bit long, but I love to see the process behind peopleās art, so will try to make an effort to show a bit more here.
Some steps before we even get to this part: sourcing linen (most of what I use is recycled), buying/selecting supplies, stretching the canvas, poking myself many times with a needle, researching and endlessly taking photos of flowers and plants, so many hours going through vintage photos in little antique shops or boxes from friends, a trip to somewhere with a large colour printer, a messy transfer process, waiting impatiently for at least 24 hours for them to cure, rubbing my fingertips off removing the paper side, and and andā¦.
Behind every piece of art is an artist trying, experimenting, honing, creating, starting again, and learning how to speak whole new visual languages to express how they see the world. I fu***ng love every second, even when I donāt.
ā¤ļøt.
Just in case it wasnāt clear where I stand on thisā¦
Art is political, mothering is political, living in a privileged white female body is political.
I have family and people I love dearly in Minnesota. Let me tell you, Minnesotas are built different and the administration chose the wrong community to f**k with. Iām scared and anxious and full of rage. If you spot me IRL looking spacey or like Iām somewhere else, itās cause I am.
