Nestled in Stanley Park, the Vancouver Rowing Club is the city's oldest amateur sports organization, home to rowing, field hockey, rugby and yachting athletes.

This was in early March 2020. It's been a while, and you have not seen these sleek crew boats on the Stanley Park Waters since then. But with Phase 2 of BC's slow reopening underway and Phase 3 on the horizon, the Vancouver Rowing Club is busy preparing for a safe, slow reopening in small boats and small groups. So those crew boats still won't be on the water for a while longer.

We were pleased to see a correction issued to the Maclean's article that came out last week:
"CORRECTION, Nov. 20, 2019: The original version of this post said the Vancouver Park Board supported the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club’s proposal; while the park board had supported an earlier project to replace the club’s boat shelters, it has not taken a position on the current proposal to expand the yacht club’s water lot."
