Two years ago, our family journeyed to the now serene and beautiful beaches of Normandy, France. It’s hard to believe that these peaceful shores were once the intense battleground for one of WWII’s most daring offensives on D-Day.

Standing there, surrounded by the calm waves, it felt like walking through a living tribute to those who gave everything for freedom.

Our family’s story, like so many others, was forever altered by the echoes of war. We carry pride and deep reverence for those who served, like SGT. Giles (Joker) Bacchus Marsh of Wyndham, New Zealand 🇳🇿 – a brave pilot with RAF 106 Squadron, lost in action, his life and courage part of a lasting legacy etched into the sands and skies.

Alongside him, we honor:

Pilot Officer P.D. (Big Pete) Davey 🇳🇿 (RNZAF), who survived injury after his Spitfire, AB370, with 602 Squadron, was engaged by enemy aircraft over France in August 1942.

Duty Signals Officer Francis (Frank) G Brown 🇨🇦 (RCAF) with the 419, 420 and 428 Squadron stationed at Middleton St. George in 1943.

To those we’ve had the privilege of knowing and those we only know through stories, thank you.

We remember, we honor, and we cherish the sacrifice. Lest we forget. 🕊️


Such an inspiring evening at the panel discussion!
We so appreciated and for sharing their unique journeys - it was so insightful to understand how their perspectives converged. Thoughts on process, the life and calling of a designer, and how they front load client work with deep research and understanding was affirming to our small practice.
