As the holiday season arrives, we’re reminded of how powerful connection, kindness, and rest can be. December often brings celebration and togetherness, but it can also bring stress, pressure, and moments of loneliness. This month, our initiative focuses on creating space for gentle expectations and compassionate self-care.
Throughout December, we invite you to slow down, reconnect with what truly matters, and honour the full spectrum of emotions that this season can bring. Whether you’re finding joy in small traditions, navigating grief, or simply trying to stay grounded, you deserve care and support.
🎄 Goals for this holiday season:
- Encourage simple practices for reducing holiday stress.
- Acts of kindness to lift others & strengthen connection.
- Highlight stories of resilience, hope, and community.
- Share resources for seasonal loneliness and overwhelm.
🎁 Foundry BC – Mental-health support, walk-in counselling, tools for stress and emotional wellness.
🎁 Here2Talk (BC Post-Secondary Students) – 24/7 counselling by phone or chat.
🎁 BC Bereavement Helpline – Support for grief, including during the holidays: 1-877-779-2223
🎁 Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA BC Division) – Workshops, seasonal mental-health articles, community programs
💛 This season, let’s remember:
- You are allowed to rest.
- You are allowed to set boundaries.
- You are allowed to feel exactly what you feel.

Today is National Grief and Bereavement Day. 🕯️
On this day, we pause to honour the deep and often silent experience of loss—whether that’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or any major change that leaves a void.
Let’s light a candle to honour the love that we remember, the love that surrounds us now, and the love and healing yet to come. It’s a gentle reminder that grief is not something to “get over,” but something to be experienced, supported, and shared.
By acknowledging grief openly, we remind ourselves and each other that loss is a journey shared, not one we face alone. This day helps bridge the gap between individual loss and collective compassion.
