Accessibility means nothing if it is not maintained. During the recent snowfall in the Vancouver area, this was an unfortunate trend – uncleared sidewalks, paths, curbs, and even worse, plowed snow dumped on to accessible parking spots!
This leaves people with mobility issues essentially stranded.
This is why it is so important to not just salt your sidewalks and pathways, but to actually do some shoveling!
