I saw this trending a few months ago and didn't want to share it because I felt like it was guilting people into not buying things.
-
However, I saw the value in shifting perspective on saving and how we use our money. Especially with COVID and how people are thinking more about their finances.
-
So instead of using stuff you don't "need," I used stuff you don't "value."
-
This is a small but important distinction because it helps us get in tune emotionally with our spending habits. Of course you want to spend money on things you want. But is it something you really want (somethine you value), or is it something someone else told you that you should want.
-
This is where you "cut the fat." If it's not something you need and something you don't value, why are you spending your money on it?
-
Instead, why not put that money towards something you value that requires saving? Such as travelling, home ownership, starting a business, financial freedom? And it can start from as little as $27.40 per day.
