This photo was taken by an old friend of mine just yesterday. I recently reconnected with her during a handout. She’s found herself homeless and with stage 3 liver failure. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears when she told me and when I saw her for the first time. She’s one of the last people on this earth I imagined could go through this.

Yesterday, after not seeing her for months and being very very worried about her health (since it’s been visibly going downhill the last few times I saw her) I bumped into her She was smiley and said she was doing better! She let me hold her puppy that’s just 2 pounds and took this photo of us. It was so sunny that she couldn’t see the screen (I also might have had my brightness turned way down).. but this photo is beautiful to me. I was not only doing what I love but I was getting puppy snuggles and was being photographed by a good good friend and person who always gives her best in every situation.

She made me feel like an actual photoshoot was happening.. she positioned me and everything. Shout out to her, to you, and to myself. We got this and we are all really good at it.. whatever “it” is.
