Math at the gym? Yes please! Trying to sort out how many reps with what weight to generate the maximum benefit can be confusing! A simple and smart rule is to use the combo of weight and reps that maximize the total volume lifted per set. So here we have the difference of doing an exercise with 90 lbs for 12 reps versus the same exercise with 110 lbs for 10 reps - you’re better off doing the set with 110 lbs for 10 reps to maximize the total volume of weight lifted! Try experimenting with your calculator next time at the gym and see what combo of weights and reps gives you the most volume(in other words, the most benefit ☺️💪🏼)
