We are looking for an Early Childhood Education Assistant to join our team in January as one of our current staff members returns to school. We are a Spanish Immersion group daycare providing care for infant and toddlers. Knowing Spanish is not necessary but preferred. Hours are guaranteed 35-40 hrs per week, there is an opportunity for more hours subbing. This position will start after the Christmas break.

Requirements:
SPANISH SPEAKERS ARE PREFERRED
· Current Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Early Childhood Educator Assistant (ECEA) certification and License to Practice in BC.
· Two exceptional work-related references
· A resume including a record of work, volunteer, and education history
· Copies of supporting documents and certificates Emergency Child Care First Aid Certified.
· The successful candidate will need to undergo a criminal record check for working with children.
· Evidence that you have complied with the province’s immunization and tuberculosis control programs
· Excellent verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work very well in team settings.
· Ability to follow instructions and willingness to assume and carry out assigned tasks and to be accountable for results and actions, including quality of work.
· Ability to appreciate diversity, different opinions, lived experiences, backgrounds, and personality types.
· Dependable, including the ability to maintain good attendance, be reliable and punctual.
· Professional, with a positive work attitude.
Working Conditions
· Ability to lift and move chairs, mats, etc. (up to 30lbs).
· Ability to work positively in a busy and loud environment.
· Ability to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
· Ability to stand for long periods of time, run occasionally, crouch and bend frequently, and sit on the floor.
· 5 paid sick days a year, prorated after successful completion of a 90-day (or equivalent) probationary period
·Two weeks Christmas break paid (last weeks of December)
· Paid ECE courses and training
· Free bus pass if unable to drive
