What does it really feel like to experience Canada through homestay?

When Hoang Duong (Mark) arrived from Vietnam, he wasn't just starting school in a new country; he was becoming part of a Canadian family.

From celebrating his first Christmas and Thanksgiving to building confidence through everyday moments, his homestay experience became so much more than a place to live.

Thanks to the support of the CHN Scholarship Program and his welcoming host family, Hoang Duong (Mark) found belonging, connection, and memories that will last a lifetime.

It's National Indigenous History Month!

This June, we honour the histories, cultures, traditions, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Canada.

At Canada Homestay Network, we believe that meaningful cultural exchange begins with learning, listening, and building understanding. National Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to reflect on the stories that have shaped this land and to celebrate the resilience, knowledge, and diversity of Indigenous communities.

We encourage our host families, students, and partners to take time this month to learn about Indigenous histories, support Indigenous voices, and engage with local events and educational resources.

Together, we can foster greater understanding, respect, and reconciliation.
