The findings from this study indicate that interest in stress management training programmes (SMT), such as counselling and self-guided study, is common during pregnancy. In this sample, emotional distress rather than objective medical risk was a better indicator of interest in SMT, supporting the need for universal perinatal anxiety screening. Care providers should inquire early-on about interest in SMT during pregnancy and ensure awareness of SMT options.

Thank you to all the organizations, scientists, and perinatal people who have supported us in our mission to promote the mental health of pregnant and postpartum people and their babies🤍 We are now collecting donations to support current and future research initiatives on perinatal anxiety and related disorders (AD). Although ADs are the most common mental health conditions affecting the perinatal population (20%), we are the only research lab in Canada focusing on perinatal anxiety. Your donation today will help us sustain current research projects as well as develop new initiatives such as identifying perinatal anxiety screening tools, improving postpartum harm thoughts management, and supporting knowledge translation activities.
