Accessbc
our ultimate goal: Smash the Patriarchy!
Universal no-cost prescription contraception is a revenue positive, yet despite this, Zero Pharmacare agreements have been signed since took office. With the first phase of the national Pharmacare plan promising free prescription contraception and diabetes medication and supplies.
The Carney government has flip flopped on whether or not they will pursue additional agreements, and has indicated that they may allow the program to end when current funding expires in 2029.
This is absolutely unacceptable and a betrayal of Canadians, who were promised a national plan. Instead, Canadian's ability to access life-saving and life-changing medicine now depends on their incomes and their postal codes.
We need actual leadership on Pharmacare. We need a federal government that is actively negotiating agreements with outstanding jurisdictions, and is committed to not only funding these agreements moving forward, but actively working to expand pharmacare beyond free diabetes medication and supplies and prescription .

There are many reasons why people are prescribed prescription contraception, all of them are valid and are reasons why we need to tear down barriers people face when trying to access this life-saving and life-changing medicine!
Unfortunately, direct cost isn't the only barrier preventing people from accessing prescription contraception! That's why AccessBC is running a campaign working to improve pain management for IUD insertions in BC! Learn more and take action at:

IUD insertion pain is real, significant, and preventable. Yet many patients are offered little to no pain relief, and the quality of care depends far too often on individual provider training or geographic location.
Our message is clear: Not just a pinch: Pain relief is not a luxury, it’s a right! Tell your MLA today!

Your ability to access life-saving medicine should not depend on your income or postal code.
Zero Pharmacare agreement have been signed since became PM. We are in desperate need of federal leadership on Pharmacare but Mark and the Liberals are dropping the ball. Your ability to access life-saving medicine should not depend on your income or postal code!
This is a failure of leadership and values.
