Building Blocks Behaviour Consulting and Support Services is currently looking for 1-2 Behavioural Interventionists to join our small, close-knit team.
If you enjoy working and playing with young children, have some experience with children with Autism and related disorders and have a passion for learning more and more every day.....you may be the person we are searching for.
We are looking for a fun, energetic and positive individual who aligns with our philosophy of building strong relationships with families, teaching functional skills for everyday life and always believing in the power of play.
You would be providing 1:1 therapy based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) in our therapeutic play-based preschool setting working on child and family goals.
Experience with children with ASD is an asset but not necessary as you would be trained within our team.
Experience with having fun with children and knowing how to get down on the floor and play is a must!
Requirements:
Be age 19 or over Have a clear criminal records check including vulnerable sector clearance or be willing to complete one
Have current First Aid / CPR Have reliable transportation
Have a passion and interest in or education in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, Special Needs, Child Development, etc.
Be self-motivated and have an ability to work independently and creatively for up to 3 hours per each child session
Ability to show organization and accountability through data taking and record keeping of therapy activities.
Love to work with children, have patience, energy, a positive attitude, flexibility and a willingness to learn
Be able to receive and apply constructive feedback Be able to commit to at least 1-2 children for at least 12 months or longer
Have the ability to attend team functions, trainings and educational opportunities when they arise.
2-3 recent references
Part-time hours: 10-24 per week during the weekdays, specifically needing availability in afternoon.
