Today is World Zoonoses Day, a reminder that caring for your pet also helps protect your family.

Preventive care goes a long way. Regular wellness exams, vaccinations, and parasite prevention can help keep your pet healthy while reducing the risk of diseases that can spread between animals and people.

Summer adventures can sometimes come with unexpected risks for our pets.

A little extra attention after walks and outdoor play can help catch problems early and keep your furry friend comfortable all season long.

At Midtown Veterinary Hospital, our video otoscope allows us to clearly see inside the ear canal and safely locate and remove grass seeds when needed.

If something seems off, don’t wait to get it checked. We’re here to help.

What is rhinoscopy, and when might your pet need it?

Rhinoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows veterinarians to examine the nasal passages and identify issues that may not be visible during a routine exam.

It can be helpful for pets experiencing:
• Persistent sneezing
• Nasal discharge
• Foreign objects in the nose
• Unexplained nasal symptoms

In Lexi’s case, rhinoscopy helped us locate and safely remove a grass awn lodged in her nose, allowing her to breathe comfortably again.

If your pet is showing ongoing nasal symptoms, our team is here to help determine the cause and the best treatment options.

This sweet 3-year-old Pit Bull mix recently stopped by for a follow-up visit after getting into a little scrap through a fence. We’re happy to share that his sutures have been removed, and he’s healing up nicely!

From his serious pose to that post-visit tongue-out moment, Phil kept us smiling throughout his visit.

Wishing you a smooth recovery and plenty of safe adventures ahead, Phil!
