This song means a lot to me. I’ve been sitting on this one for a while. It’s gone through so many iterations. It’s nice to finally have it out in the wild.

Big shoutout to .rolf.photo for the drums, for the uke and some backing vocals, and for the harp on the acoustic version.

I’m really encouraged by what I’ve heard about the album from you guys. It genuinely means so much to know folks are listening to my music and gave it a shot.

If I’m honest, I don’t really know what to do with this album after our Thursday show 😅

I started writing the tunes last year, arbitrarily deciding they were “not fit” as Painting Pelicans tunes. I wanted to release a Keepe album for a long time, I had a bunch of introspective songs piling up, so I decided “screw it” and put them out there.

I know my brain, and it will move on to the next project really quickly. That’s just what it does. I’m really eager to work on the new Painting Pelicans songs, they’re our best work yet.

But for now, I’ll hold onto the excitement of playing these songs with a full band, especially since that band consists of my Pelicans fam (flock represent! 🦆💵) we’re only doing this once, so if you wanna see it, you gotta come out on Thursday night!
