Today on Truth and Reconciliation Day I pause to honour the children who never returned home, the survivors of residential schools, and the families who carry this history.
As the owner of Miss Crys Floral Design who is also an Anishinaabe Ojibwe woman, this day is deeply personal for me.
My grandfather, whom I am very close with, is a survivor of the Spanish School for Boys. His resilience is a reminder of both the pain of the past and the strength of our people.
Today I hold space for truth, remembrance and the hope of reconciliation.
