The Circassian Repatriation Organization (CRO) proudly extends its heartfelt congratulations to Mwafaq Katt on receiving the prestigious 2026 Lifetime Achievement Award as part of the renowned Mahmoud Kahil Awards.

Established in Beirut in 2014, the Mahmoud Kahil Awards were created to honor the legacy of the late artist Mahmoud Kahil and to promote the art of editorial cartooning, illustration, and comics in the Arab world. Organized by the Mu’taz and Rada Sawwaf Arabic Comics Initiative at the American University of Beirut, these awards have become among the most respected recognitions in the Arab world for artists working in these fields.

The Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the most distinguished categories of the Mahmoud Kahil Awards. It is presented in recognition of Arab cartoonists and comics artists who have devoted 25 years or more to the profession and who have made exceptional, long-lasting contributions to the field.

Mwafaq Katt’s receiving this important honor is a fitting tribute to his remarkable artistic journey, his creativity, and his enduring impact on generations of readers and artists. His work stands as a testament to the power of art to inform, inspire, and preserve cultural memory.

This recognition carries special meaning for us at CRO. Mwafaq Katt is one of the organization’s early members and supporters, and he also served with dedication on its financial committee. تتقدم منظمة العودة الشركسية (CRO) بأحرّ التهاني والتبريكات إلى موفق قات لحصوله على جائزة الإنجاز مدى الحياة لعام 2026، ضمن جوائز محمود كحيل المرموقة.

تأسست جوائز محمود كحيل في بيروت عام 2014، تكريمًا لإرث الفنان الراحل محمود كحيل، وتهدف إلى دعم فن الكاريكاتير الصحفي، والرسم التوضيحي، والقصص المصورة في العالم العربي. وتنظم هذه الجوائز مبادرة القصص المصورة العربية التابعة لمعتز ورادا صواف في الجامعة الأمريكية في بيروت، وقد أصبحت من أبرز وأهم الجوائز في العالم العربي للفنانين العاملين في هذه المجالات.

وتُعد جائزة الإنجاز مدى الحياة من أرفع فئات جوائز محمود كحيل، حيث تُمنح تقديرًا للفنانين العرب في مجالي الكاريكاتير والقصص المصورة الذين كرّسوا 25 عامًا أو أكثر من مسيرتهم المهنية، وقدموا إسهامات استثنائية ومستدامة في هذا المجال.

إن حصول موفق قات على هذا التكريم الرفيع يُعد تقديرًا مستحقًا لمسيرته الفنية المتميزة، وإبداعه المتواصل، وأثره العميق في أجيال من القراء والفنانين. وتمثل أعماله شهادة حية على قدرة الفن في التوعية والإلهام والحفاظ على الذاكرة الثقافية.

ويحمل هذا التكريم أهمية خاصة بالنسبة لنا في منظمة CRO، حيث يُعد موفق قات من الأعضاء الأوائل والداعمين للمنظمة، كما خدم بتفانٍ ضمن لجنتها المالية. وقد كان لالتزامه وكرمه ودعمه المستمر أثر كبير في مسيرة المنظمة على مر السنوات.
