Mendeleev Monday -Atomic Number 13 - Aluminium (Al). Aluminium is the most abundant metal and the third most abundant element overall. Despite making up about 8% of the Earth's crust, pure aluminum is almost never encountered in nature. Aluminium is used in vehicles ranging from spacecraft to naval ships, buildings, electronics, utensils, as well as food and beverage packaging among many other things common in homes and workplaces.

Mendeleev Monday - Atomic Number 12 - Magnesium (Mg). Magnesium is the eighth most abundant element in the universe and is found in the Earth's crust, oceans and plants. It is found in every cell of the body, about 60% of which is stored in bones and is overall vital to every system in the body. Magnesium is commonly used in the production of lightweight alloys that are found in vehicles. In other forms it appears in electronic devices, fertilizers, flares and fireworks.
