✨️Our next speaker highlight is Cara Gwizd 🌸

🌿Cara is the owner of the Herb Filled Homestead in Ilderton, Ontario. She is an Herbalist, Midwife + currently a Naturopathic student. She was so well received last year that we decided to bring her back!!

Cara’s childhood landscape was one composed of the plant allies + herbal traditions that had accompanied her great-grandmother, a member of the Polish diaspora, on her passage to Canada. It was this foundational knowledge in botanical medicines + a passion for women’s health that led her to training/working as both a modern + traditional midwife in the United States and Guatemala. After stepping away from midwifery, it was her study of traditional herbalism that compelled her to complete an undergraduate degree in health sciences + psychology at Queen's University. Cara is currently a naturopathic medical student at CCNM. Her private practice focuses on healing the stored + residual trauma that physically manifests within the body, with a special emphasis on holistic well-woman care. When not serving others, or expanding her knowledge, Cara tends to both her family + her small-scale herb farm, in Southwestern, Ontario.

Today's highlight is: Dr. Sarah Hawthorn ✨️

Dr. Sarah Hawthorn is a Naturopathic Doctor who believes the body has an innate ability to heal itself with guidance. Dr. Sarah is committed to helping others realign their body’s balance, putting health and joy back into their lives.

She is also the Co-Director of Health in Balance. They are a multidisciplinary team who work together to bring your health towards optimal balance. They opened in November 2009 and have been expanding and growing ever since. The clinic specializes in treating the whole person through an individualized approach, while supporting your optimum physical, psychological and emotional health.

Dr. Sarah believes in community health, global connection, and creating a stronger bond with her patients. With this ideology, her and her business partner have hosted several group trips to Nicaragua, with the next one kicking-off in 2026!

More recently, Dr. Sarah has co-founded her own line of homeopathics called “Hawthorn Homeopathics.” Proudly made in Canada, gentle and safe for all ages.

Hey my plant people 🌿 Sorry I've been a bit m.i.a. on here. This cold Spring season has me spending so much time in the garden fighting these temperatures. Today was gorgeous + sunny 🌞 so praying it stays that way!!
