CaluJules - Flamenco Plus

Footage from last week at the 2025 Little KW Flamenco Fest. It was another great push to make this little fest happen but we couldn't be happier with the turnout. The workshops and student showcase were well attended (separate pics coming soon) and our concert at Waterloo Public Square was packed and full of life! The best part was that we were able to provide all the events free of charge to the public, fulfilling our goal of making our event financially accessible and bringing arts to the people. This weekend, join us (Calú & Jules) at another free and delightful festival, the Kultrún World Music Festival by our sponsor and partner @nerudaarts.ca A big shout out to @uptownwaterloo @create_waterloo and @citywaterloo for making this concert at Waterloo Square possible and thank you for the @cityofkitchener @registrytheatre supporting to workshops and Student Showcase in Kitchener. Thank you also to @tmmcz and @westmountsigns for your continued support and to @wrcommfdn for accepting our application this year as well as to @artsbuildon for providing our artistic directors with space to create and prepare. The dancers featured in this reel include the talented @rocioconde and @corvicadu who perform regularly in Toronto and as part of @esmeralda_enrique's dance company, as well as local Fest founder, Claudia Aguirre. And though you may not see them all here in this reel, the wonderful music was played by @alvaroechanove on vocals @filya_sam on violin and @santospercussion as well as Fest founder Julian Berg on guitar. FLAMENCO ON TOUR offers a rare chance to experience Spain's treasured artform live, and performed by artists direct from Seville, Spain. Featuring Spain-based guitarist Dennis Duffin, percussionist and singer Dani Carbonell, and celebrated dancers Makeda Benitez and Lia Grainger, FLAMENCO ON TOUR brings the heat and intensity of the traditional Spanish flamenco clubs -- the "tablaos" and "p***s" -- to Canadian theatres.
Experience the delicate guitar arpeggios and rapid "rasgados," the at turns mournful and joyful singing, and the stunning and dramatic dance, complete with "complementos" like shawl, fan, and spectacular costumes.
