I am happy to announce that Free Bird Falconry is officially a certified Living Wage employer!

Here's a first for our directory: Free Bird Falconry is now a certified employer in Oxford County! Owner/Licensed Falconer Julia Staines, seen here with Jeremy the peregrine falcon, on why she pursued certification:

"I decided to become a living wage employer because I have personally had to work multiple jobs in the past in order to make ends meet. I know what it’s like to struggle and I don’t want my employees to go through that. It’s important to me that they are able to enjoy their lives!"

Waste Discovery Day is coming! On Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., come out and meet our falconer Julia, and her hawk, Honey. The pair will make appearances in the morning to talk about the important work they do at the landfill. Learn more: regionofwaterloo.ca/WasteDiscoveryDay
