It’s with heavy hearts that we share the passing of another very special member of our WP family, Crawford. 💔

We’ve had the absolute privilege of caring for this sweet boy from the day he was adopted in 2014. His family has been with us since 2007, making them our longest-standing clients. Over the years, we were also fortunate to care for Mitze and Bailey. We miss them dearly and hold each of them close to our hearts.

Crawford was one of the gentlest, sweetest souls you could ever hope to meet. He simply loved being loved. One of my favourite memories will always be watching him happily roll around on the kitchen island, completely unbothered by my repeated attempts to convince him it wasn’t the best place to be. He had a way of doing exactly what made him happy, and that was part of his charm.

I’ll also never forget the time when he was on a diet. The moment his bowl was empty, he’d look at me with those pleading eyes as if I had deprived him of his last meal, hoping I’d give in and offer just a little bit more. It was nearly impossible to resist that sweet face but I had to.

Crawford embraced life with joy and was deeply loved by his family, as well as everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He brought comfort, laughter, unconditional love and his absence will be felt by so many.

Five years ago, Crawford sadly lost his human dad. We’d like to believe they are together again and reunited.

To Crawford’s family, thank you for trusting us to care for your beloved companions for nearly two decades. It has truly been an honour to be part of your journey.

Rest easy, sweet Crawford. Thank you for the memories, the cuddles, the laughs, and the unwavering love. You will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.

Isla

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our beloved kitty client, Isla.

Isla was a truly gentle, sweet soul who always greeted us with quiet contentment. She loved affection, scritches, and simply having someone there to keep her company. It was impossible not to adore her.

One of the greatest privileges of this business is the trust our clients place in us. We are welcomed into their homes and entrusted with the care of their beloved pets and their homes—something we never take for granted. Over the years, those relationships grow into meaningful bonds, especially with long-time clients like Isla and her family.

We first met Isla in 2018 and have had the absolute honour of caring for her ever since. Alongside her feline sister, Maize, she became a cherished part of our pet care family. Before Maize, we also had the privilege of caring for Isla’s beloved sister, Tinkus, whom we said goodbye to several years ago.

We like to imagine Tinkus waiting to welcome Isla with open paws. Together again, free from pain, chasing birds and mice, basking in the sunshine, and enjoying each other’s company once more.

Over the years, we’ve shared so many special moments with Isla and her sisters, capturing hundreds of photos and countless memories. Choosing just a handful to share was no easy task.

Our hearts are with Isla’s family as they navigate her loss, and we are also thinking of sweet Maize as she adjusts to life without her lifelong companion.

Thank you, Isla, for allowing us to be part of your life. It has been a true honour to know and care for you. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

*June was another difficult month for our pet care family, bringing the loss of several cherished clients. After nearly 20 years in this profession, people often ask what the hardest part of the business is. Without question, it is saying goodbye. No matter how many years pass, it never becomes easier.
