Calling all chess players at Wilfrid Laurier University!!!
The 2021 Canadian University Chess Championships (Hosted as a collaboration between the McMaster University Chess Club and Queen's University Chess Club) will be held as a casual, online tournament on lichess.org this year.
Tournament dates are:
Sat, Jan. 16th: Round Robin 10|5 (12:00 – 4:00pm EST)
Sun, Jan. 17th: Championship + Reserve 10|5 (12:00 – 4:00pm EST)
We are currently looking for players of all skills and experience to represent WLU at the tournament this year! Anyone who is currently part of the Laurier community (including alumni) can join the team!

Canadian University Chess Championship - CUCC This is the official page for the Canadian University Chess Championship. As in-person gatherings will not be allowed this year, we hope to have a casual online blitz tournament instead. Details on the format, rules, and date will be posted here!

Hey everyone. Please see McMaster's latest post on upcoming online tournaments!
"Did you enjoy last Saturday’s tournament? Well we’re going to step things up a bit.
Starting this Saturday at 12pm Eastern time there will be monthly Canadian University Speed Chess Championship's until September.
There will be two divisions, Championship and Reserve (U1800), each with 3 consecutive tournaments.
Format: 5|0 Arena (2 hours) @ 12pm, 15 minute break/sign up for next tournament, 3|0 (1.5 hours) @ 2:15pm, 15 minute break/sign up for next tournament, 1|0 Arena (30 minutes) @ 4pm. Total: 4.5 hours
Prizes: There will be prizes towards UberEats for users with the top 3 overall scores in each division after the three tournaments. 1st - $15, 2nd - $10, 3rd - $5. Additionally, there will be two prizes ($5) for random users in each division.

See below for an updated post on the Canadian University Quarentine Chess Championships that is taking place online on chess.com this coming Saturday April 4th.
Unfortunately due to midterms and incoming weather conditions, we will be cancelling our meeting tomorrow (Feb. 26).
