Last week, I walked the Wilderness Trail at Pinery Provincial Park — one of my favourite trails.
There is something so grounding about those tall trees, the open forest, and the way the path eventually leads you to the dog beach.
The lake was calm.
The wind was soft.
And everything felt peaceful.
What touched me most is how this trail carries both beauty and resilience. You can still see where the 2014 tornado opened the canopy — and now, because of that opening, new wildflowers, shrubs, and trees are growing.
Isn’t that such a powerful reminder?
Sometimes life opens us up in ways we didn’t expect.
And sometimes, through that opening, new light comes in.
If you haven’t walked the Wilderness Trail yet, I highly recommend it — with or without dogs.
A beautiful reminder that nature always knows how to lead us back to calm.
