I travel for this.
This café in Cairo stopped me in my tracks — not because it was trying to impress anyone, but because every detail was chosen with intention. The calligraphy, the arch, the cushions, the layered frames. Nothing was an afterthought.
Design this deliberate doesn’t go out of style. These patterns, this craft, this approach to layering a space — it’s been here for centuries. Long before anyone called it a trend.
That’s what I’m always looking for in a home. Not more things — more intention. The difference between a room that feels decorated and a room that feels inevitable.

Most people start redecorating multiple rooms at once. And finish none of them properly.
A room that’s “almost done” never quite feels like home — there’s always the empty corner, the lamp you haven’t gotten to, the art that’s still leaning against the wall instead of hung. It’s not finished, so it can’t fully do its job.
Finish one room completely — down to the smallest detail — before you move to the next. It takes longer to get to everything. But every room you do finish actually feels finished. And that’s worth more than five rooms that are almost there.
