In this video, our tech Matt explains what it does, how it works, and why it matters - especially if your home is in an older part of town where the infrastructure is aging and the risk is higher.

A couple of things worth knowing:
A backwater valve is a one-way gate installed on your main sewer line. When the city’s system backs up, it closes automatically - blocking sewage from entering your home.
It also affects your home insurance. Many insurers offer reduced premiums or expanded coverage when a backwater valve is properly installed. That’s worth a conversation with your provider.
