Learning to sit with my emotions didn’t happen all at once.
For a long time, my instinct was to move away from discomfort.
To distract myself.
To shift how I was feeling.
To try to get back to a place that felt more manageable.
And even when I started to become more aware of what I was doing, it didn’t immediately become easy to stay. 🩷
There were still moments where I didn’t know how to sit with what was coming up.
What helped wasn’t forcing myself to “do it right.”
It was creating space to slow down.
To come back to my body.
To meet what I was feeling a little more gently each time.
And over time, that began to shift things.
Not all at once, but slowly. 🩷
Sometimes, that space is something you create for yourself.
And sometimes it’s something you’re supported in.

I used to believe I needed to feel “high vibrational” all the time
but it was actually disconnecting me from myself.
For a long time, I thought that if I could just stay in a more positive, elevated state, I was doing things “right.”
So when anything uncomfortable came up
stress, heaviness, uncertainty
my instinct was to shift out of it.
To move past it.
To feel better as quickly as possible.
But over time, I started to notice something
In trying to stay in a certain state, I wasn’t fully allowing myself to experience what was actually present.
I was bypassing my emotions instead of meeting them.
In doing that, I became a little more disconnected from my body and from the signals it was trying to give me.
Because not every emotion is meant to feel light or comfortable.
Some are meant to be felt.
Acknowledged.
Allowed to move through you without judgment.
When you create space for that,
without forcing yourself into a different state
something really begins to shift.
There’s more grounding.
More clarity.
More connection to yourself.
You don’t need to feel a certain way to be “on track.” 🩷
